2017 Austin, Texas
We size the call before we sell the licence.
Vebex is a video conferencing platform for business, built and run by thirty-eight people in Austin, most of them engineers. We have been shipping the same product since 2017. Eight years of reading other people's call logs is why we can tell you which of the nine modules you do not need.
Who runs this
Ve Bex, trading at ve-bex.click
Ve Bex is the company behind this site, trading at ve-bex.click. We are a software business. We make an online meeting software product and we sell it directly, from this website, to companies that need to run meetings, webinars and day-to-day chat over the internet. We are not a reseller. We do not white-label somebody else's video stack.
We are based at 167 Mill Street, Office 12, Austin, Texas 31098, in the United States, and the company has run since 2017. Thirty-eight people work here, most of them engineers who write, test or operate the software. The rest handle proposals, onboarding and support. All of them run their own meetings on Vebex, because it is the only meeting tool we use.
If you need to check who you are dealing with before you talk to us, the honest answer is that we are a small vendor with a narrow product. One published address, one phone number. No partner network and no enterprise sales floor.
What we actually do
Nine modules, one sizing decision
We sell a collaboration platform by inquiry. A team tells us its seat count, the size of its largest meeting and the modules it needs; we reply with a written proposal. Nothing is bought on this site.
What we build
Video meetings with gallery sizes up to 49 tiles, 50 breakout rooms and an audio-first fallback that drops video before it drops a voice. Webinars with panelists separated from attendees and moderated Q&A. Persistent team messaging where a thread turns into a call with one button. Screen sharing and a shared whiteboard. Cloud recording with transcripts. PSTN dial-in and call-me. Short asynchronous video messages. An admin console with single sign-on, roles and an audit log. A REST API with webhooks.
How it is priced
Meetings is quoted per host, per month. Webinars is quoted per attendee block of 500, per month. Dial-in is quoted per minute of phone audio. Recording is quoted per gigabyte of retained storage, per month. Team Chat, Video Messages and, from the Business tier, Admin and Security are included with a host licence. The number comes in your proposal, not from a price list on this page.
Where we sell
Businesses in the United States first, and any team that can reach our Austin support hours. Field crews, clinics, workshops, distributed engineering teams and companies replacing an online meeting tool whose renewal is coming up. All proposals start monthly. Annual terms come up when a customer asks for them, not in the first email.
How to start
Run the configurator, or send the size of your largest monthly meeting and your host count through the inquiry form. You get a one-page sizing sheet and a written proposal. Nothing is charged and no card is taken on this site.
How decisions get made
Room noise beats roadmap noise
Every engineer here sits on support rotation for one week in eight. They answer the chat widget and read the inquiry queue, so they hear the failure modes first-hand. When somebody says the audio cut out at the eight-minute mark of every call from a certain hotel, that goes into the next build, not into a backlog groomed by a product manager who has never taken the call.
Decisions are made in a Tuesday meeting that lasts 40 minutes and has two standing questions. Does it fix a failure somebody actually reported? Can we support it at 3am with the people we have? Anything that fails the second one does not ship, however good the demo looks.
- Release cadence
- Twice a month, plus fixes when needed
- Support rotation
- One week in eight, every engineer
- Change window
- Never mid-week during business hours
If your largest meeting is 40 people and you ask for the webinar module, we will tell you that webinars may be capacity you do not need. If your field team joins by phone four times a week, dial-in is not a nice-to-have, it is the line item your previous vendor buried.
Refusals
Four things we will not build
-
Refusal 01 · attention scoring
We do not score who looked away from the camera.
No attention metric, no engagement graph, no "this participant was distracted" line in a report. Customers ask for it every few months. That feature does not exist here and will not, because it turns a meeting tool into surveillance software and the person on the other end never agreed to be measured.
-
Refusal 02 · paywalls mid-call
A host never hits a paywall in the middle of a meeting.
If you run past a limit, the meeting keeps running and we talk about it afterwards. Recording may stop early if storage is full, that is arithmetic, but the call itself does not degrade to sell you a tier. Nobody freezes a client review to show a customer an upgrade button.
-
Refusal 03 · lock-in
The first proposal is monthly. Always.
No multi-year commitment on day one, no auto-renewing term buried in a quote. If you want annual pricing you can ask, and we will quote it against monthly so you can see what you are actually buying with the discount. Cancel at the end of any month and take your recordings with you.
-
Refusal 04 · invented uptime
No uptime percentage we cannot measure ourselves.
We do not publish a five-nines claim we cannot verify from our own status data. Instead the service credit policy states what counts as an outage, how the credit is calculated and what is excluded. You get a figure you can hold us to instead of a percentage in a slide.
